-Graduated with BS in Computer Science 2005 @ CSUF.
-Currently work in the GIS field, under a very small business in southern california. Mainly aimed at web/desktop based mapping applications.
- I will be enrolling into several ESRI courses within the following months.
Well, it has been a few years since i have graduated, and i am now getting the itch to go back and get a masters degree before i never do. My family says that a MBA will have a longer lasting effect when compared to geography (true.) But geography sounds really interesting and i really enjoy the GIS field and in southern california i do not believe it will dissipate any time soon.
Any ideas would be great, i am just looking for the right Master degree program for me. Any help from any field would be appreciated, whether it be Business, Geography, or Computer Science.

Anybody familiar working with GIS and ESRI. i have heard about the NIIT-GIS course. anybody who has done the course and are working in the field can you please contribute on the job oppurtunites and courses that can be done to keep up with the job market please contribute.

My degree is geography-related but in order to get an entry-level job, I need to teach myself GIS. I can’t afford a class at this time, so the only type of GIS I could learn and actually practice would be open source. I can read the book for ArcGIS 9.3, but I would only be able to practice on ArcExplorer because the more advanced ESRI software is very expensive. If I learn open source GIS, will that be sufficient to prepare me for an entry-level job, or am I SOL unless I can find somewhere to practice on ESRI software?

I was recently offered a position with an electric company which uses Small world. I am knowlegeable in ArcGis.
Are these two programs simliar? I never even heard of smallworld until my interivew.
Do you think this transition will be smooth?

i am trying to install esri Crime Analysis True Type Font, esri Business Tue Type Font, and esri District 4 True Type Font on a windows xp machine. it is not working for me. it goes through the installation fine but they are not working.
has anybody had this problem before? and how did you fix it? thanks.

Now I have created the 3D terrain model from my DTM, I now want to create the grey bit below the green surface (making it look like its sitting on stone) can anyone help? Hope this clear enough! I’m using ArcGIS 9.1
