Can I Convert Autocad Map Maps Into Arcview / Arcgis?
I have more than a few maps made in AutoCad and AutoCad map. I need to convert those into ArcGis (shp file) Is there any way this can be done?
Thanks

You can try a product called MAPublisher from Avenza. I believe you can output the file as an encapsulated postscript file (.eps) and then output it in the map files of your choice.http://www.avenza.com/

I found this resource. I haven’t used it myself but I’ve worked w/ the shp file format before. This may or may not be a complete waste of time, but if it gets you 1/2 way the shp file format is very simple and you may be able to create your own translator to fit your own needs if it doesnt work.
Good Luck!
